NOOR نور

It's called NOOR (نور), which means light or divine guidance.

At first glance it looks like a simple logo piece, but every part of it is intentional. The back says “Fear not, do not be afraid” and sits over the Palm Jumeirah, the exact place we were when the drone struck across from us.

The front features Arabic text that reads “Perfect Love,” with the line below, “casts out fear,” from 1 John 4:18.

Around the design are reflections on love being selfless, even toward those who may never give anything back.

For me, this piece is a reminder of how fragile life is, but also how meaningful it is. It's a reminder that we are loved, and that we are called to love others the same way.
